The Team

James originated from Lancashire and lived in six different cities before being adopted as a Scouser over 15 years ago.

 

James has served on the leadership of City Church for seven years, was ordained in 2019 and became our Senior Pastor in September 2022.

 

His passion is to take the Gospel outside of the four walls of the church, to those who don’t know Christ.

 

He has been married to Cathy for over ten years, and they have two girls.

 

James loves to BBQ and is an avid DIYer.

Cathy is married to James and together they have two children. She has a passion to see the younger generations following Jesus and loving the Bible. 

 

Cathy coordinates the small group ministry in the church with a vision to see the congregation enjoy community with one another and to spur one another on their faith.

 

She loves drinking tea with friends and reading a good ‘whodunnit!’

Paul is married to Caroline. He was born in Scotland but grew up on the South Coast. Since then he & Caroline have lived in the East & West, so he can truly say he is from the North, South, East and West!

Ordained in 2007, Paul was previously associate pastor at Nantwich Elim Church, and subsequently Senior pastor of Kensington Elim Church, Liverpool.

 

He and Caroline joined the team here at City Church in January 2022 as our two local churches began the process of merging.

Paul also works as a 1-2-1 teaching assistant in a local primary school.

​

He has a real heart for people of all generations and is passionate about digging deep into God's word. 

Caroline is married to Paul. She was born in Windsor, but grew up near Portsmouth, where she met Paul when she was training to be a nurse. She and Paul have 8 children together. Having home-educated her family and worked in Children's ministry for many years, she has a heart to see God's destiny fulfilled in young people's lives.

 

Caroline also works as an NCT practitioner. 

 

She is passionate about her faith, her family, all things child-birth, photography, & Tech' !

City Church was led by Liverpool native, Dave for over 25 years at City Church.

 

Dave has helped Christians and people new to Christianity understand the Bible and go deeper in their faith.

 

His passion is for people to be set free and to come into a living faith with Jesus.

 

Dave has been married to Sue for 40 years, and they have four children.

 

He’s a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club and loves a good quiz show.

Sue has served alongside Dave throughout their time at City Church and continues to serve us as our Chair of Trustees.

 

Sue has a passion for worship and has trained countless worship leaders who now minister across the nation.

 

Through ministry Sue looks to see every Christ follower continually grow to be more like Him.

 

She’s a fantastic cook and a great host.
